Uxlabil
Hotels and its Social Responsability
In 2006
we received an award because our corporate social responsibility
as small enterprise. Our practices are rooted in our philosophy
and because of that we continue to establish practices and procedures
in such line. In Uxlabil Hotels recently:
1. The personnel received two days of training in cooperation
and efficiency at work. The trainer was Lic. Juan Manuel Moreno,
specialist from Mexico.
2. In Antigua Guatemala we reorganized the Reception area so
that our guests and employees enjoy a warmer area. We will be
stressing the “museum” concept.
3. Starting March 2007 at the end of each month the employees
will receive a montly monetary prize, in proportion with the
rate of occupancy we have each month. It can be as high as one
fourth of the normal salary.
4. On February 24 we had a meeting with leaders of 15 associations
from San Juan La Laguna. We shared our philosophy and work procedures
and we asked them to audit Eco hotel Uxlabil Atitlán.
We decided to have a similar meeting each year.
5. We will continue to clean our part in front of Lake Atitlán.
We will protect the reed so that fish and migratory dock habitat
is favored.
6. In April 2007 during two days 14 Canadian dentists will attend
San Juan La Laguna children and adults in Eco hotel Uxlabil.
Children pay nothing and adults pay Q. 5.00 (US $ 0.70) for
each treatment. The money will go to local projects.
